A few of my favourite ladies mentioned doing a juice cleanse at the start of January....this turned into a 2-day Green Monster smoothie cleanse for me because day-um that juice cleanse is expensive! I've mentioned the Green Monster before on my blog -- I started drinking one every morning because I'm SO BAD at getting in my green veggies. There are many variations of this on the internet, but I found Angela's website and changed up her basic recipe to suit me:
- 1/2 a frozen banana (these should be really ripe. In case you cared, I really, really hate bananas but they do add good consistency to the smoothie and the gross taste is minimal)
- a couple of handfuls of spinach
- 1 tbsp of hemp seeds
- 3/4 cup of frozen blueberries
- chocolate protein powder (everyone needs a different amount -- I use 1.5 scoops)
- 1 cup of water
