The gluttony is over, folks. Time to get back into the swing of things
(get it? Kettle bell swings? Sigh, I know....)
I'm past the whole "I'll buy some new gym clothes and then I'll start going to the gym" phase in my life, but it is nice to have some proper workout gear for when you get your ass kicked by your trainer. Because when you go to the gym, you should be dripping and red-faced by the time you leave and you'll APPRECIATE good workout gear.
Disclaimer: I am clearly a Lululemon fan. After 10 or so years of receiving their items for Christmases and birthdays, I have a full wardrobe of it. I am also one of those girls who hates certain gyms because there are too many "Lululemon-wearing girls" who go there. I have issues.
Here are some of my current favourites:
I love my Wunder Unders for anything other than the gym. I need a drawstring to keep my pants from falling down...enter Run Inspire Crops. A salesclerk introduced me to these pants by saying they were the best-wicking of all their products. Sold. They are comfy (what Lulus aren't?) and I can wear them in warmer weather because they are THAT good at keeping sweat at bay.
Prior to running my first Half-Marathon, I wore regular old cotton socks. I received a pair of "running socks" for Christmas that year and the difference was amazing. Dry feet! I never realized how uncomfortable I was until I upgraded. Now, I have a bin for my workout socks. I like a good mid-weight sock such as the one above, sold at the Running Room.
I adore this Gust Buster Jacket I received for Christmas. It's long (hip-length), which keeps me warm and the cuffs are a great addition. So far, it is the perfect post-workout piece to throw on to keep from getting a chill.
Finally, I usually wear a slipless headband while I workout. I am so fussy about my frizzy hair being away from my face, it's the only thing that works for me.
Additions: I always add a NUUN tab to my water when I go to the gym. I get headaches when I'm low on electrolytes and these are what works for me. Not as "heavy" or sweet as Gatorade, which I find gross.
Alright folks, time to get inspired! Make a new playlist, put on your gear and GO!
2013 is YOUR year!

Thanks for visiting and following my blog :) LOVE IT.
I'm with you on being a HUGE Lulu fan...but not being a fan of the gym 'lulu' trendy girl. I love the slipless headbands...I always have an extra in my purse or car in case I forget to pack one in my gym bag! I'm really excited about the socks...and your recommendation about the gust buster jacket!
I'm glad you're a fan of tufted couches too...The one I want would unfortantly cost about 1/3 of a year of law school. Ugh.
Happy Hump day!
great post!! this year i started before new years...i did the Dr. Oz 3 day detox which ended for me on the 1st so i wasnt in the mood to go nuts! lol XO
Ok, slipless head band. Is it really non slip? I've tried alot of ones that claim not to slip...apparently I have very slippery hair? (too smooth for school :-P)
Yes- I am a fan! But I don't go to a gym so you can't hate me right? lol
Just joking! ;-)
I will check out your recommendations.
