Does anyone else "buy around" an item?
I have been eyeing these Frye boots for close to a year, but I kept buying around them -- cheapies from Aldo, brown Ugg Carnagie -- when all I really wanted were well-made, black, flat ankle boots. I do so much walking around the city that splurging on shoes is worth it. According to, well, everyone, Fryes last forever and, so far, my feet are comfortable no matter how long I'm on them.

I love my Fryes. And you're right about the comfort level--and the fact that they last forever :) I have the traditional harness boots--but I am totally lusting after yours right now! oxo
I don't so much buy around, as just not buy at all. It took me 5 years to buy a maxi dress.
So many times!! And I always regret it later and wish I had just bought what I really wanted. I did that for years with work out pants until I discovered Lululemon. Now I will only buy those pants and wear them for years. They literally never wear out either!!
